Damali Ramirez da-ma-li ra-meer-ez (she/her)

Damali Ramirez is a 2022 graduate of Hofstra University, double majoring in journalism and political science with a minor in civic engagement. She is the editor-in-chief of the Long Island Advocate, the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication’s hyper-local multimedia news site. Ramirez has worked for the Long Island Herald as a freelance reporter and was an Emma Bowen fellow at Hearst Television, working as an assistant editor for the true-crime show Hometown Tragedy. Her work also has been published in the Hofstra Chronicle and YCTeen magazine.
